The Western Stage’s 40th Anniversary

Anniversaries inspire reflection, so as we celebrate the fortieth year of The Western Stage, we ask ourselves about the success of our efforts. We believe success can be measured by the positive impact our work has upon those we serve. We take pride in the fact that the program endured significant changes and is still providing strong productions and outreach programs for Hartnell College and our Community. We strive to offer the same meaningful experience we encountered in our first season here to those who now come through our doors – a journey of transformation. We work to be arts mentors for the next generation and are heartened by encounters with TWS alumni who say that their time with us, however brief, created seminal moments and memories. 2014 is an open invitation to all members of The Company, and we hope that every performance and anniversary event becomes a mini-reunion!

Community Events

In celebration of its 40th “Ruby” anniversary, The Western Stage will also offer special community events during the year, and welcomes all past Company Members back as a reminder that there’s “No Place Like Home!” anniversary_blog             For more information about The Western Stage’s Anniversary, please email Artistic Program Director, Melissa Chin-Parker or Western Stage anniversary archivist Heather Osteraa. TWSlogo_red_180pTony-nominated set designer, Salinas native, & TWS alumni, Robert Brill, has designed a new look for us!  It is at once evocative of Salinas’ fields, the stage, and his scenic design of TWS’ East of Eden.  The new brand signals a fresh approach with a nod to our past.
